Fishing remains good. It has been over a week since our last trip in Ludington, so not hearing of anything better we headed back up north to our old spot in the middle of the 01′s in 160 fow and trolled nnw. The surface temp was 46 degrees and it was 42.3 down 160′. The wind was out of the northwest so we were trolling up wind. We hit our first fish in 180 fow. It was on the chute rigger down 160 on an 11″ White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly with a regular size Fuzzy Bear Modified Blue Dolphin stacked 10′ above it. Once again this set up was our hot rod. We had a good troll going and didn’t turn until we were in 280 fow in the middle of the 06′s. The action was steady. We turned back south and made a down wind trolling southeast. Our riggers were set at 130, 160 and 110. We had a pair of Yeck Wart frogs on the 130 out down that went twice. We got as shallow as 135 ‘ and turned southwest to get back out deeper. We ended up having pretty good action between 140 & 160 fow in the 04′s and 03′s. Not a lot of diver action. We were running magnum spoons on our 300, 400 & 450 coppers and they all took fish. The 400 with a Fuzzy Bear Blue Dolphin went 3 times and the 450s with a Fuzzy Bear Green Dolphin and a Yeck Lighting each took a nice King. A 300 with a Yeck Nuclear Green went twice.

5-7-12 Fishing Report
Fishing was good this morning. We fished the same area as yesterday. Our hot rod again was the chute rigger with an 11″ White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a Yeck Lighting Spoon set at 160 ft. Today all the bites were on the Paddle & Fly. The Pickled Sunshine Fly is all chewed up but they keep biting it so we keep putting it out. A pair of Yeck Wart Frogs down 130′ took a nice King and a pair of glow spoons down 110′ took one too. We took Kings on a 400 copper with a regular size Fuzzy Bear Frosted Veggie, a 450 copper with a Mag Fuzzy Bear Modified Green Dolphin, and missed one on a 400 copper with a mag glow spoon. When we left the dock at 6:20 our party said they wanted to catch 5 fish and head back. As they were fighting the fifth fish 2 more hit and they got them. We quite at 8:15. I’ll be fishing down in St Joe for the rest of the week with the Blue Fairways Team so I won’t be posting any reports until next week.
