We fished up north today setting up in the middle of the 01′s in 160 fow and trolled nnw. We didn’t have all our rods set when a high wire diver out 240 ft. with a 10″ Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Big Water Cold Steel Meat Rig & Erie Dearie Herring Strip fired. That one got away. We only had 4 diver bites today and they all came on that diver. The first 2 were at 240 ft and we dropped it back to 320 ft later in the morning and took 2 there. Our best rod was the chute rigger down 160 ft. with an 11″ White Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a regular size Yeck Lighting. It went 6 times, 4 on the Paddle & 2 on the Lighting. The stack was 10ft. above the Paddle. Our
out downs took fish down 110 & 130 ft. A new UV Michigan Dolphin Dreamweaver SS Spoon took a nice King down 130 ft. We had a 5 color lead core, 250, 300, 350, 400, & 450 coppers out. The 5 color & 400 copper we they only two to take fish. The 400 had a regular Fuzzy Bear Frosted Veggie on it and the 5 color was baited with an orange glow spoon. We trolled as far north as the low 05′s and back south to the high 01′s. We made it out as deep as 260, but most of our fish came between 180 & 220 fow. The surface temp was 43.9 degrees and it was 40.3 down 160 ft. We tried to keep our speed between 2.0 & 2.3 at the ball on our Fish Hawk.

4-28-12 Fishing Report
Our 2012 season has begun. We took the boat out this afternoon for a shake down trip and everything worked fine. We went north to the middle of the 01′s and set up in 180 fow. Our first rod down took a nice King. It came on the chute rigger down 159 ft. with a big Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a regular size Yeck Lighting spoon. It took the stack. We worked between 180 and 250 fow and trolled north to the 05′s and then back to the 02′s. Our best action between 200 & 220 fow. These spring Kings are feisty. We hit 17 fish and boated 11 of them, 10 Kings & 1 Coho. Every thing was deep. Our top rod was the chute rigger. It had 5 bites, 3 on the Paddle and 2 on the Lighting stack. A low wire diver out 243 ft. with a 10″ Showtime Spin Doctor/ Blue Moo Meat Rig went 4 times. A high wire diver out 240 ft. with a 10″ Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Big Water Tackle Cold Steel Meat Rig went twice. A regular size Fuzzy Bear Frosted Veggie on a 400 copper went twice and a magnum Fuzzy Bear Modified Blue Dolphin on the other 400 copper went once. A pair on regular size Yeck Lighting spoons on a out down set a t 100 ft. went twice and a regular DW Blue Glow Dolphin on the other out down at 115 ft. went once. The temp was pretty much the same from the surface down to 160 ft. - 40.2 to 40.9.
